Containers and Packaging Recycling Law was enacted in Japan in 1995. From 1995 to 2005, the weight of plastics used was reduced by 15,500 tons (21.5% of total; or 29.5% reduction per unit of product weight).
JSDA plans to achieve 30% reduction per unit of product weight by 2010.
