Containers and Packaging Recycling Law was enacted in Japan in 1995.
From 1995 to 2004, the weight of plastics used was reduced by 20,000 tons (27% of total; or 25% reduction per unit of product weight).
JSDA plans to achieve 30% reduction per unit of product weight by 2010.
